What must someone do to be a member of Horizon Community Church?
1. You must be a believer in the biblical Jesus Christ and be willing to share how you became a believer with some of the elders of the church.
2. You must have been baptized in water as a sign of your belief in Christ.
3. You must be willing to confess (admit) your faith to the entire congregation as a way of publicly identifying yourself as a Christian.
What do we ask our members to do (as opposed to our non-members)?
1. We ask you to attend worship regularly.
2. We ask you to find and join a small group.
3. We ask you to volunteer in a ministry situation, either inside or outside Horizon church.
Basically, we are asking all our members to Connect to God, Connect to People, and Connect to Ministry. Again, this is the process by which we seek to transform people from unbelievers into faithful disciples of Jesus Christ. As a member of Horizon, we expect you to support this process and participate in it.
We recognize that this process may not be for you. That is fine! If after this class, you do not wish to join as a member, that is OK and no one will think less of you. But this is the process which Horizon is committed to in order to fulfill its mission of Transforming Lives through Christ.
